First off, my user name is Shannon01. I originally wanted to use KeriShannon, as my real name is Kerry, but when I registered, it was not accepted. So my apologies to the other Shannon on this site. (I never really like the name Kerry, but I always liked the name Shannon, even tho' both are male/female names. So, how did I get into crossdressing? Well, it started some years ago, I was working outside, and it was very hot. I was wearing cut-off jeans, but they seemed restrictive and still hot. So I took some scissors and cut thru the crotch, and wow! what a difference. I felt a nice breeze between my legs. I had no idea! So I bought a kilt. But it was scratchy and heavy. And kind of long. I didn't really like it. So I made a mini skirt out of another pair of jeans. I loved it. It was light and soft, and I liked the way the frayed denim felt across my legs as I walked. I also have long hair, and with a tank top, I looked surprisingly feminine. So I got curious and went to amazon and bought some light weight summer dresses and tunics. I liked them too. So now, when I get home, especially after a hard, hot days work, I can't wait to strip off my jeans and put on a comfortable dress. Now try to understand, I don't identify as a woman and I have no desire to go out in public and try to pass myself off as female. I like being a guy. I used to be rabidly homophobic, but now I see things in a different light, and now I feel a kinship with those of you who want to pass as female. I admire you. But that isn't the road I want to travel. I was on another crossdresser site, and some of them tried to shame me into going public, so I left. I hope you can accept that what you want, isn't what I want. I just want to be comfortable in my own house. So what am I wearing right now? I live in the Mojave desert. Today it wasn't all that hot, but a little while ago we had a downpour of rain. I went outside with a hat and coat to roll up the windows in my truck. It was coming down really hard. I was about to go back indoors, when I remembered my bee hive. I didn't want them to get washed out. So I put some boards over their hive to deflect that rain. By now I was thouroghly soaked. I went inside, took my hat and coat off, and my soaked jeans. I put on a mini-kilt and t-shirt. Nothing sexy, just comfortable.
As Debbie says the forum has its own seasonal shift (though we tend to have more than 4 seasons each year). With a forum such as this you have to take into account the dress-purge cycle some cross-dressers go through, during the purge stage members disappear and some never return. We also have members who progress through to transitioning and sometimes these users either outgrow our community or find better support elsewhere. On the whole there always are members actively logging in and most will comment when they have something to say.
In all honesty the novelty of welcoming new members wears off after 50 or so, although there are some members who have almost 100% of their posts in the Introductions forum. Then you also have members such as Debbie or myself who are moderators and there are times when moderation duties can take up most of our available time for visiting the forum.
With respect to your personal story - whatever floats your boat is fine by most of us, I always advise newer members that your journey through life is similar to a train journey - along the way there are many stations and branches, where you stop to explore is your own choice, how far you travel is your own choice, if you decide that you want to explore more then again it is your choice to travel to the next stop. At the end of the day you decide your comfort zones and anyone who tries to tell you different is not helping you.

I have been reliably informed that I am a much bigger bitch when I am NOT Sara!!!!
Thank you ladies for you responses. Yeah, I can understand how things can ebb and flow. Well, I pretty much told my story. I will read and respond to others. I usually like to inject a little humor from time to time. But I wouldn't be sarcastic or offensive. People can sometimes take themselves too seriously.
