Do you think that crossdressers are part of LGBTQ?

Postby leopard123 » Mon May 01, 2017 4:56 am

Do you think that crossdressers are part of LGBTQ?

If so what part of LGBTQ are they?

I'm asking this because I thought about it for a while and I don't know if they do or not and yes I wanted to know for myself

I get the feeling that this is more a question about yourself than crossdressers in general. However to answer your question, crossdressers should fall somewhere on the LGBT spectrum but the actual position is dependant on the individual.

To find where you personally lie on the spectrum you will need to answer the questions that many prefer to avoid -

How strongly do you identify as a female whether dressed or not?
Do you have a desire to dress/live full-time as a female?
Would you consider transformative surgeries/therapies?

There are many categories which have been suggested as being part of the transgender spectrum which do not involve surgery or transformation. Simply put any non-transitioning individual who wears clothing regarded as intended for the opposite gender from their assigned physical gender at birth would be regarded as a crossdresser.
"Denying who you really are, only leads to regrets later in life. Seize the moment because it will never come around again."

I have been reliably informed that I am a much bigger bitch when I am NOT Sara!!!!

I identify as either a crossdresser OR a transvestite and as such I'm definitely the "T" part of LGBT.

On other sites I've been on (probabaly on here too) there have been some argument as to whether there is a difference and what a CD or TV is.
Sometimes people say TV is definitely someone who dresses up to fulfil a sexual side of their life and that cross dressers dress certain ways only and never with false breasts or only with . . . whatever they think at the time. As far as I'm concerned I don't think there's a set way of things when it comes to chosing clothes or deciding what your gender is and that anyone who has a desire to dress, whether male to female or vice versa, should be able to decide for themselves.

There is a spectrum of "trans". We each have to make our own labels but not be bogged down by it.

In my head I look good, but then reality buts in . . . . . . .

The T in LGBTQ is trans.

This should encompass every element of being trans, from those that have a need to dress, but feel their birth gender was correct right through to those who transition medically.

Trying to label people beyond that is unfair on the people being labelled. We're all individuals, and express our personality individually.

All excellent responses, especially Sara and Debbie!

For many crossdressers, definitely the "T", for others, not so much.

We're all individuals, and some fit nicely into certain labels, and others not.

For myself, I fit fairly solidly into identifying as a male, but I cross dress as a woman solely as a sexual turn-on, since I find women incredibly sexy.

From past readings of "Dear Abby" over the decades, I got the idea that this wasn't particularly uncommon...often women writing about their husbands' desire to cross-dress in their lingerie, etc.

But from reading the comments here, I seem to be a distinct minority.

I can relate to Sizzle. But find some bi porn and definitely T porn attractive. Doubt I could muster and action those directions but have dressed with wife. I don't think I really fit in the community. To far removed I guess

Yes. The "T" can stand for transgender or transvestite.
And I must say, leopard123 you are stunningly cute.
