Debbie raised a question in a previous post as to why women take so long. She was referring to their time in the loo but I have a question as to the experience of cross dressers in how we relate to women. What other things have you done or felt that gives you a new understanding of women and the trials and joys they go through.
For example, until having done it, I never realised why it takes a woman so long to dress and get ready, particularly when dressing for a date with someone else. It's not only make up, it's the trial of buying, selecting, or matching clothes that take so much time. Blokes rarely worry about anything but matching colours. Women match colour, jewellery, make up, hair, colour of hosiery, skirt length, belt style, heel size (mustn't be too tall). Do most blokes worry about the colour of their socks or the style of their pants?
As for Debbie's comment on why women take so long in the loo compared with blokes, I wonder if it's more about care in taking aim and the time taken to wash their hands afterwards!
Do you have any examples of how you've gained a new respect for women after experiencing the trials they are subjected to? Trials that you may have been oblivious to before having experienced them yourself.
Personally (I probably have a vested interest) I think all men should wear make-up just to see what's involved. I have friends on nights out, who've complained about the length of time their wives take to get ready to go out.
My wife didn't think to ask why I've never complained...It's because I knew what was involved!
It takes me long enough, and I've only got a few outfits! My wife's faster at putting on make-up than I am, and can (amazingly) do everything except mascara and eye-liner while walking.
I'd love to be able to swap tips with her
As a man, it takes me two, three minutes to get dressed. As a woman, it takes twenty, thirty minutes, depending on how much make-up I'm wearing. If I do my nails, it can take forty minutes!
Oh...and I wash my hands when I go to the loo! I once got a blank look in a pub telling them that there was no soap in the dispenser and no paper towels in the box (in the gents...)
Hi, The answer to the loo thing is all about aiming. I've got quite a few friends who've been through surgery and they all say that not getting wee all over your thighs is an acquired skill. I've had this confirmed by genetic women too - the conversations one gets into. Even when busting they have to do a slow release. Many swear by throwing tissues in before they wee to absorb the initial burst.
Then there's the handwashing though not all ladies seem to be any better than their male counterparts I'm afraid, checking all is well with appearance and the delay is inevitable. As for make up. Well I think anything under 30 mins to get dressed and made up is heading for the gold medal position.
